Murray is a Vancouver native who completed his Diploma in Forestry from BCIT in 1979. He then enjoyed working in Campbell River with the BC Ministry of Forests as a Forest Technologist.
-
After travelling for a year (and working as a gardener in Sydney, Australia), Murray went on to establish a landscape maintenance business in the Vancouver Lower Mainland region. He acknowledges Jim O'Friel and Bill White (then at Pacific Vocational Institute) for their teachings and mentoring.
-
Murray accepted the position of Gardener for West Vancouver School District #45 (thank-you Dick Fulbrook) during which time he became a Journeyman Horticulturalist and ISA Certified Arborist. Murray acknowledges Roy Forster (first curator of VanDusen Botanical Gardens) and Doug Justice (then at Kwantlan College) for their teachings and mentoring.
-
Murray then accepted a position with the University of British Columbia and further honed his Arboricultural skills working with the excellent arborists and gardeners on staff. He wishes to acknowledge David Smith (former Superintendent), Kreso Plavsic (former Head Gardener), and John Heady (former Sub-Head) for their knowledge and encouragement.
-
Murray has returned to the Private Sector, offering consultations and advice on all landscape matters.

Trees are life - breath in what they give us. Thank-you trees.
